5 month agoAttack by Druze factions on the strategic Tell Hadid (West Suwayda) was planned since some time. They also took advantage of absence of Defense ministry troops and withdrawal of tribal fighters (few remain). Few days ago, this video emerged showing them monitoring the Security forces deployed on the hill. Now that they control it, they have a visual dominance over the entire Western Suwayda countryside

5 month agoIsraeli army soldiers questioned several suspected arms dealers and seized weapons during an overnight raid in southern Syria, the military says. Troops of the 226th Reserve Paratroopers Brigade and field interrogators of the Intelligence Directorate's Unit 504 operated in the town of Hader, just across the border. The IDF says several suspected arms dealers were questioned, which, along with prior intelligence, led the troops to four sites in the area where weapons were being stored.
Local factions in Sweida launched a counterattack this morning and took control of Tal Hadid in the western Sweida countryside after clashes with clans that violated the ceasefire last night and tried to storm the town of Ara from Tal Hadid. The sounds of mutual shelling and bursts of gunfire can still be heard west and north of Sweida.
