Syria says closed border with Lebanon following Israeli warnings

The Popular Mobilization Forces (PMF) evacuates their main headquarters near Iraq’s al-Qa'im border with Syria after several airstrikes killed two people

Syria has reinforced its border with Lebanon with rocket units and thousands of troops, eight Syrian and Lebanese sources said on Tuesday, as conflict spread in the region including between Israel and Hezbollah. The Syrian officers, including a senior member of the military, said the move was aimed at preventing arms and drugs smuggling as well blocking Iran-backed Lebanese Hezbollah or other militants from infiltrating Syria

A security source told Al-Ikhbariya: Two members of the Internal Security Forces were killed as a result of a landmine explosion in the city of Al-Sanamayn in the Daraa countryside. The incident occurred during a patrol by members of the Internal Security Forces in the Ninth Division, where they noticed the presence of anti-personnel mines and improvised explosive devices placed inside rocks, likely remnants of the former regime. When they attempted to handle them, one of the mines exploded, resulting in the suicide attack of two members of the Al-Sanamayn Security Directorate and injuring three others who were taken to hospitals in Damascus

The General Authority of Civil Aviation: Aleppo International Airport will resume operations starting at midnight on Wednesday. Air corridors in the northern sector of Syrian airspace towards Turkey will also reopen. The remaining air corridors and Damascus International Airport will remain closed until further notice.
