Clashes erupted on the western outskirts of Suwayda city, involving an exchange of heavy machine gun fire between Public Security forces and National Guard forces. Syria denied a Reuters report on Thursday, November 6, that the United States was preparing to establish a military presence at an airbase in the Syrian capital, Damascus, to help facilitate a security agreement that Washington is working to broker between Syria and Israel.
