In a joint press conference with Qatari PM al-Thani in Damascus, al-Sharaa accused Israel of advancing in the buffer zone under the pretext of the presence of Iranian militias and Hezbollah. "This excuse no longer applies after the liberation of Damascus," al-Sharaa said. "Syria is committed to the 1974 agreement with Israel and is ready for international forces to enter and protect it."
